What is an AFS-USA Volunteer?
Volunteers have been central and remain central to AFS. Volunteers founded AFS and through their commitment AFS continues to be one of the world’s largest community-based volunteer organizations. In volunteering for AFS-USA, you will be dedicated to building a more just and peaceful world through supporting participants and families who take part in our international, intercultural exchange programs.Volunteering for AFS-USA means that you are willingly giving your time, skills, labor or ideas without seeking any remuneration. In order to be an AFS-USA volunteer you must complete a formal registration process, abide by AFS-USA polices and respect the mission, vision and values in performing your duties.
Who are AFS-USA Volunteers?
Volunteers come in all ages, backgrounds, and stages in their lives - Young high school AFS returnees just back from their year abroad, university students, Mom and Dads with young children or teenagers, single professionals, empty nesters, retirees, anyone who enjoys working with international or US high school students. Whether it is directly with the participants or helping in the background to support the AFS mission.AFS-USA works toward a more just and peaceful world by providing

Volunteer with AFS World Flags
The AFS World Flags Area Team is always looking for additional volunteers. You may volunteer as much or as little as you like. There are a wide variety of volunteer opportunities such as: interview potential AFS studentsor host families, help at an AFS orientation, provide snacks for an activity, be a liaison for an AFS participant, help with a newsletter, help with mailings, help with host family finding, be an AFS Community Representative, be an emergency family, be a translator, the possibilities are endless………………………..Please feel free to contact me for further information -
